Family of car accident victims might file wrongful death claim

Car accidents in Texas are a major source of concern. Though the vehicles themselves often bear the brunt of the the damage, the outcome when a motorcycle is involved is an entirely different story. Such is the case of a recent fatal motorcycle accident which might lead the deceased victims' family to file wrongful death claims.

The accident occurred during the evening in late May in Orange. A large pickup truck driven by a 29-year-old man collided with a motorcycle that was being ridden by a 54-year-old husband and his 50-year-old wife. When the police arrived, they found the truck stopped and on top of the motorcycle and its two riders.

The victims of the accident were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. According to the authorities, intoxication and excessive speed led to the fatal collision. The driver of the truck is currently under arrest and is facing two charges of intoxication manslaughter.

When a driver is fatally wounded in a car accident in Texas and the other driver is believed to have been negligent in causing the crash, the decedent's family may choose to file a wrongful death claim. The result of a successful wrongful death claim may offer financial assistance to the remaining family members in order to pay for costs and other financial damages incurred due to the result of the fatal accident, including hospital bills and burial costs. An experienced personal injury lawyer understands the intricacies of the process of successfully filing a wrongful death claim and is often one of the first professionals contacted to help begin to make sense of a needlessly tragic accident.
